Welcoming the Young Golfers
The day began with check-in, where I had the chance to welcome elementary school golfers as they arrived. I greeted them in English, guided them through the registration process, and helped them prepare for the tournament. Watching their nervous excitement transform into smiles as they settled in reminded me of the power of hospitality and encouragement.

Teaching Practical Golf English
After everyone had arrived, we held a brief orientation session. I assisted with a mini-lesson on practical golf English, introducing common phrases used on the course and demonstrating how to apply them during play. The children were eager to participate, asking questions and practicing phrases with enthusiasm. It was wonderful to see them gain confidence in communicating in a new language while talking about something they love.

Interviews During Practice
During the practice session with professional golfers, I conducted interviews in English. I asked each player about their golf journey, their favorite professional golfers, and which part of the game they enjoyed most—driving, chipping, or putting. Listening to their stories was fascinating. Many had started playing golf at a very young age, and most shared a special fondness for driving. Even though English was not their first language, they made sincere efforts to speak and listen carefully, which was truly inspiring. These conversations allowed me to connect personally with the players and witness their passion for the sport up close.

Competition and Camaraderie
Once practice concluded, the junior golfers competed in driving, chipping, and putting challenges. The energy in the venue was palpable! It was fun to have a role in introducing players in English and cheering them on. Their confidence and encouragement helped create a positive, vibrant atmosphere, boosting the morale of the participants and keeping the audience engaged.

Applause filled the venue as each player took their turn, and the excitement was contagious. Watching the children support one another and celebrate each success reminded me that sports are as much about camaraderie and personal growth as they are about competition.

Reflections on the Day
Volunteering at the tournament was such a unique opportunity. Beyond the technical aspects of the sport, I witnessed the dedication, discipline, and joy that drive young athletes. It was a reminder that even small acts like welcoming someone with a smile, teaching them a phrase in English, or cheering them on can make a lasting impact.

Being part of this event allowed me to contribute to a memorable experience for these young golfers while also creating meaningful connections and unforgettable memories for myself.
